Janet Rae MNCS Accred
Janet is an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner and Counselling Supervisor; she also has a degree in Behavioural Science and a Post Graduate qualification in Drug and Alcohol Studies. Janet currently provides counselling for an NHS funded organisation, an Employee Assistance Programme, a leading private clinical facility and within her own private practice in Glasgow. Janet has many years of experience working in the field of addictions, both within the prisons and in the community; also working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse. Janet previously provided counselling within a community mental health service and a children and young person’s service.
Janet also provides supervision for qualified therapist and external supervision for employees of a local authority who work with trauma and mental distress. Janet has a keen interest in Mindfulness, Compassion Therapy, Art Analytical Psychotherapy and uses an integrative approach to counselling as she believes we are all individuals. Janet’s clients have often told her they wish they had come for counselling sooner as it’s would have saved them years of suffering. Graham Sheaff MHS Accred
Graham is a Psychology graduate with extensive experience in teaching in secondary, further and higher education. He became interested in counselling as a natural extension of his study of Psychology combined with his experience of dealing with adults and young people withint the education setting. He trained as a Psychodynamic counsellor and has his own private practice. In order to provide a more holistic approach to therapy, he undertook additional training in CBT which was more applicable to the teenagers he was working with in his role as a secondary school tutor where support for stress, anxiety and OCD were required on a regular basis.
To complement these therapies, and following his interest in the overlap between therapeutic styles, he undertook further training as a hypnotherapist. He combines a passion for theoretical knowledge with a breadth of understanding of different styles of therapy and a wealth of experience as a teacher, tutor and therapist.
Gloria Breen MNCS Accred
Gloria lives in the Scottish Borders and enjoys the outdoor life. Psychology has been a passion for almost 14 years since starting her career change, leading from working as a Veterinary Pharmaceuticals sales manager to retrain as a psychologist/psychological therapist. Gloria has a BSc Hons in Psychology, Advanced professional diploma in integrative counselling, Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Diploma level qualification in Addiction, and is an accredited member of the National Counselling Society. She has spent several years working with addiction and dual diagnosis, also in a rehabilitation hospital and has experience in supporting individuals who self harm. Her experience also includes counselling individuals with a number of additional problems such as, depression, anxiety, relationship issues and more severe problems such as BPD. Gloria has experience in using a variety of different therapeutic models including Person Centred, CBT, REBT and Motivational Interviewing and is currently involved in expanding her knowledge and training in mindfulness techniques and DBT.
