Karen Ferguson - FAQ's

Karen Ferguson - Head of Hypnotherapy, has been teaching for Chrysalis for many years and is regularly asked some of the below questions from her students. To save you waiting here are the answers: -

Q. What happens if I can’t attend my class?

A. If you know before 5pm on the Friday that you are unable to attend, please let the office know so they can inform your tutor. If the office is closed, please let one of your study group know and ask them to inform your tutor for you.

Q. How to I find out where I can make up a missed class?

A. Log onto the student section of the website, find the timetable on the left hand side.  Listed here are all the classes taking place that month and the following month.  Look up the module you have missed and decide on which venue you are able to attend.  Once you have done this, please inform the office (no more than 2 weeks before you wish to attend) and they will inform the tutor and send you details of the venue.

Q. What do I do if I can’t hand my homework in on the set day?

A. Simply hand your homework to your tutor at your next class.  If you are unable to attend, but your homework has been completed, you can ask a study group member to hand it in for you.

Q. How do I get my homework back if I miss a class?

A. You will either receive your marked work back at the next class you attend or you can give permission for your tutor to hand it back to a designated person in your study group.  Your tutor will not be able to do this, unless you have given them permission to do so.

Q. I need to leave early, is this ok?

A. Sometimes it may be the case that you will need to leave early.  Simply inform your tutor on the day and make sure you have remembered to collect any module notes and homework sheets.  Please try to leave at a time that limits the affects it will have on others, at break time for example.  Please remember that you need to attend a minimum of 9 classes in order to pass, and any early leaving or late attending will be taken into account.

Q. What do I do if I can’t find enough people for my case studies?

A. The number of case studies you have to complete per year is set, and therefore in order to complete your studies, you will have to find the set number.

Q. My study group isn’t working for me, what do I do?

A. Speak to your tutor about changing the group you are in.  Initially study groups are set geographically as this is the simplest way to do it.  However, if your group meets when you can’t and you are happy enough to travel further in order to meet with a different group, then speak to your tutor about changing.  Do remember that it is a requirement of the course that you do attend study group sessions on a regular basis.

Q. Does the practical work we do in class or the recordings we make for our own use go on the practice log?

A. No, the time spent in class is already accounted for and as you cannot sign your own practice log, any work you do for yourself cannot be included.

Is your question not there? then please feel free to comment and we will happily include this for you.

Many thanks
