Paula Moulton from the reality television series Britain's Got Talent (BGT) has described how she had to have counselling sessions after contracting the superbug MRSA.

The 41-year-old wheelchair user performed a ballroom dance on the programme with her partner Gary Lyness and received praise from the judges, but Moulton told The Sun that she went to see professionals who have taken counselling training courses in order to conquer a fear of hospitals.

She has been in a wheelchair for eight years as MRSA damaged her pelvis, hips, femurs and lower spine, but it has not stopped her from learning how to dance. The Manchester resident said: "I didn't think we'd get the chance to audition in front of Simon. Dancing has enhanced my life. I'm still getting my head around all of this."

Unreality TV revealed that Moulton has lost four stone over the two years since she took up the hobby, yet she readily admits that she was never into dancing before she lost the ability to walk.

The pair are through to the next round of BGT, the show that seeks to find the best variety act in the country. The judges this year are the show's creator Simon Cowell alongside Amanda Holden, Ales ha Dixon and David Walliams.
