"Of course, finding a respected and accredited...course is the most important place to begin. Having embarked and almost completed my course with Chrysalis I feel well prepared and as competent as it is possible to feel..."

Jackie Wood, Chrysalis graduate

Chrysalis Courses

Course locations and dates

  • Chrysalis courses meet for one full class day per month, normally on a weekend, with extra practice sessions arranged to suit students
  • Classes run throughout the year with the exception of August and late December
  • Courses start in either Autumn or Spring depending on location
  • Full details of the nearest venue are sent with your brochure
  • Courses normally start at the location where you are interviewed
  • You need to enrol several months before classes begin

sunCourses are generally run on the basis of one intensive class day per month on a weekend. In addition, students meet once a month with fellow students for practice sessions, which are arranged flexibly, and can be evenings or weekends. Chrysalis has found that this timetable structure means that people can easily fit the course around work and family commitments. Other courses meet weekly - usually a weekday evening - but our course structure means that you see us for the same amount of time with much less travel. Also, we run our courses throughout the year with the exception of August and late December, rather than following 'term times'. This ensures a sense of continuity while training.

"At Chrysalis, my tutor has shown me how the combination of both humour and humanity can be powerfully relevant in the making of an effective therapist and teacher."

Keith Pollard, Chrysalis graduate

Your brochure will provide you with exact dates and the location of your nearest course. Courses normally start in the venue where you attend interview. Although our main offices are in Bridgwater, courses are held in many different locations. (Please note, although we run courses at universities, they are not part of the university syllabus.) Enrolment is several months in advance in order to begin some preparatory work, secure funding, and make sure you have a place reserved as our courses are routinely over-subscribed.
