Our Courses

All Chrysalis courses are fully accredited and recognised by appropriate professional bodies. We seek to combine practical skills to help others with training in personal growth and development. On graduation you will automatically be entitled to professional membership with the relevant bodies.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy has been used successfully in cases of pain relief, insomnia, addiction, phobias, stress and depression. There is a growing body of evidence that it can also greatly aid and galvanise the body's natural healing processes in a wide variety of illnesses. As a hypnotherapist, you will be trained to use a powerful tool to treat a wide variety of problems. Chrysalis Hypnotherapists are able to begin professional practice on completion of their one year Diplomas.

Psychotherapy & Counselling

The roots of psychotherapy lie in the medical profession, whereas counselling developed as a 'grassroots' movement. With such a wide variety of approaches to choose from, potential students are often confused.

As the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy states, "it is not possible to make a generally accepted distinction between counselling and psychotherapy". At Chrysalis, we take the best elements of well-known counselling and psychotherapy models and put them together in a unique, tried and tested approach, which concentrates on treating all the problems most commonly seen by professional counsellors and therapists - while developing your own self-knowledge and understanding.

We teach a unique syllabus which uses a core model based on exploring the client's past, present and future, then learning different techniques and skills which will help them heal, become whole, resolve their issues and achieve their goals.

Integrated Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma

Our Integrated Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma is a two year course where you start seeing clients professionally at the beginning of year two, and are qualified to practice at the end of your Diploma - i.e. after two years.

Our most popular course, the Advanced Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma, takes things further and equips you with skills and experience to deal with deeper problems as well. Here, you follow the same route as the two year course, but with broader, and deeper training over a third year. To maintain optimum class sizes, occasionally our longer courses are taught at a different venue from place of interview but within reasonable travelling distance.

Advanced Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma

Our most popular course, the Advanced Counselling & Psychotherapy Diploma, takes things further and equips you with skills and experience to deal with deeper problems as well. Here, you follow the same route as the two year course, but with broader, and deeper, training over a third year. To maintain optimum class sizes, occasionally our longer courses are taught at a different venue to interview but within reasonable travelling distance.

Workshops

Chrysalis is developing a range of extra workshops for students and graduates which complement and build on our core courses.

Direct Entry to Year 2

If you are already a qualified hypnotherapist from a training school accredited by the HS, GHSC or equivalent, or if you have already done a counselling course such as a foundation course or certificate in counselling skills, Direct Entry to Year 2 may be possible. You may ask to be considered for this on the application form at the back of the brochure.
