Chrysalis® Blog
Tis the Season to be Jolly
Chrysalis students often tell us that a particularly wonderful aspect of taking a counselling course is to find yourself with such like minded people. People who on the whole, share a similar philosophy; about helping others, wanting to pursue a vocation in a profession where real changes can be made in the lives of people who are struggling for different reasons.
As such, Chrysalis knows that most of you will be more than aware that during the festive season, there are many people out there, who are unable to feel the joy and merriment that the season is meant to bring. Mental health problems, circumstances and events out of their control, or memories of times or people that have passed can all lead to difficult thoughts and feelings to process at a time when everything happening around them may only serve to exacerbate things even more.
And it is these people that as Chrysalis students, hoping to qualify as a counsellor
or hypnotherapist you are hoping to help in the future.
As long as we can acknowledge that not everyone is celebrating or able to celebrate Christmas or the New Year, then we are showing the human side of our profession.
