"I'm really glad I made the financial commitment to Chrysalis. With their help and advice in building a successful practice, I earned my course fees back in about a month. I'm now running a successful therapy clinic."

Jennifer Brignall, Chrysalis graduate

About Chrysalis

Are courses recognised?

  • Chrysalis courses are fully accredited and recognised - graduates can be accredited by relevant bodies
  • Hypnotherapy Society Accreditation
  • Counselling Society Accreditation
  • Criterion 4 of the BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist Accreditation Scheme
  • Eligibility to join the Royal Society for Promotion of Health (RSPH)
  • Graduates will have completed a course which is accredited by the
    Royal College of Nursing.

All Chrysalis courses are recognised and accredited by appropriate professional bodies. This recognition is important for practice, and means that graduates from our courses can become full members of professional bodies. Joining a professional body gives our students a host of benefits: professional insurance and recognition, access to newsletters, journals and websites, peer support, reduced advertising rates, and so on.

Royal College of NursingThe Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills, the Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy have been accredited by the Royal College of Nursing and students who have successfully completed a course are eligible for a RCN certificate. In addition, Chrysalis graduates, as members of our designated professional bodies, are eligible to join the Royal Society of Health (RSH). If they progress professionally, senior members can become Fellows of the Royal Society of Health (FRSH).

The Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills is fully accredited and recognised by the Hypnotherapy Society, which is the UK's largest accrediting body for hypnotherapy and was instrumental in the establishment of National Occupational Standards for hypnotherapy. Our graduates join the HS as an automatic right as fully recognised, professional members ("LHS"). We are also accredited to professional level by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council ("GHSC").

Counselling SocietyOur Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy are fully accredited by the Counselling Society - a prominent, national professional body. Our graduates may join the Counselling Society as Accredited Members (MCS Acc.) as an automatic right once they qualify.

BACPAs an Organisational Member of BACP, Chrysalis is bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where organisations undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.

The Chrysalis course contact hours for our Counselling Psychotherapy Diplomas may, at the BACP's discretion, be counted towards meeting part of criterion 4 of the BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist Accreditation scheme. Candidates for accreditation must note that they will also have to meet all other criteria. BACP also offers a professional membership "MBACP" suitable for counsellors having done a two year part-time course with a supervised placement scheme, but has no course recognition scheme for this, accepting applications on an individual basis only.

It's a condition of our accreditation that all students must join our designated professional bodies at the beginning of their courses - a small, separate fee is charged - in order to benefit from membership and ensure that they are ready to start their professional lives.
